IN THE DISTRICT COURT HELD AT MAMPONG- AKUAPEM, EASTERN REGION ON THURSDAY THE 29TH DAY OF JANUARY 2025 BEFORE HER WORSHIP BIANCA GYAMERA-BEEKO SITTING AS MAGISTRATE. SUIT No: EAS/MA/DC/A5/01/25 MADAM AIDA OBUO OWUSUA ……….. PLAINTIFF AND 1. SAMUEL ADU ..……… DEFENDANTS 2. WILLIAM OBUO 3. ISAAC OBUO Parties present. No legal representation. CONSENT JUDGMENT On the 12th of January 2024, Plaintiff filed this action against Defendant for the following reliefs: 1. The Plaintiff sues Defendants jointly and severally for general damages of (GH₵ 50,000.00) for defamation of character for defamatory words uttered about her to the hearing of other persons at Akropong DOVVSU, Taxi rank in front of the Koforidua High Court, and the main lorry road from Galloway to the ministries, Koforidua a public place just to soil the good and hard-earned reputation of the Plaintiff before right-thinking members of the society. 2. Perpetual injunction restraining the Defendants from entering any defamatory words against the Plaintiff in any way. With the consent of the Parties, the case was referred to court-connected ADR for settlement. The parties have reached an amicable settlement and have filed their terms of settlement. At the end of the mediation process, the following agreement was reached by both parties. 1. The Plaintiff said she has forgotten the defamation case. 2. That the Defendants are her siblings so they should only pay for her expenses, that is (GH₵ 6,000.00) Six Thousand Ghana Cedis. 3. The Defendants agreed and said they would pay the amount at the end of March 2025. 4. All the parties agreed. Parties pray the court to adopt these terms of settlement as the Consent Judgement of the court. Pursuant to Order 25 rule 7, the terms of settlement announced by parties in court on 29th January 2025 are hereby adopted as the Consent Judgement of the Court. SGD.
